Project for a rehabilitation and ampliation of a traditional galician house.
The idea consisted on keep the spirit of the vernacular architecture but removing the handicaps; like the lack relationship with the landscape and a non existing conexion between the two buildings (only existed a visual relationship).
Here we can see the new conexion that will work as a main entrance to the house and working as a hall/acces to the terrace. This conexion is in between the living room (right) and the kitchen (left).
Constructed on wood to clearly differentiate between the old construction (stone) and the new parts, but at the same time keeping a relation with the traditional constructive methods.
As we can see on the next sheets, the main material used is wood. On the structure, the carpentry, floors etc. This is related with the traditional galician constructive method giving a clear difference between the robust exterior estructure made on stone and a more light and warm interior estructure.
